John:

2 Timothy 3:15 - NRSV “...and how from early childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.” Much like Timothy, I was instructed in the way of salvation from my earliest memories. And though I never consciously rejected those teachings, during my teen years I was prompted by the Holy Spirit of the need to personally internalize the essential truths of salvation.

To utilize the words of one of the selections on our CD, Salvation Found, “Salvation IS a miracle to me.” By the grace of God, this is a continuing and eternal reality for me.

John Backstrom, our lead singer, is a retired Air Force and airline pilot. He and his wife, Cheryl, have lived and traveled to many places, but now enjoy being with family, especially their four grandchildren. John likes to run, take Bible Study classes, be involved in church activities and sing with the Northfield Senior Men’s Chorus.
